The emigrants from Italy Alessandra
go far away from their land, change the entire life immersed in a culture other than their own ... it's what he did even Alessandra.
go far away from their land, change the entire life immersed in a culture other than their own ... it's what he did even Alessandra. Alessandra is Piedmont, Biella, but for thirteen and a half years living in Mohammedia (Morocco), 30 km north of Casablanca.
A Mohammedia Alessandra went there for love: when her husband took a job there he packed his suitcase and broke it later.
Alessandra is a full-time mom, but also finds time to devote to the Association Parents and his blog ( http://ipensieridialle.splinder.com/ ).
When asked what he loves best of Italy and what to love less, says: "I love the freedom of speech, being able to ride a bike or motorcycle, being able to find what we are looking for anytime, anywhere, go to the theater, concerts and exhibitions. I love the fact that they appear not always, are superior, and sentenced to be hypocritical not know "and then:" What I miss most of Italy, apart from the family and friends, of course, is food, because here are for quality products and when there are at prohibitive prices. I do not miss all the provinces, the closed-minded, seeing things with blinders on. "
Alessandra has not so far decided to return to Italy, but "can not be said tomorrow! My daughter goes to university in Italy, so a bit 'of commuting we will. "
Who, like her, living abroad, says:" I [...] who knows what it means to live abroad being away from their roots, knows what it means to see to pass the time and you are cut off, of course after a certain number of years you get used to and it becomes quite natural, so come on! "to those who read from Italy:" In 'collective imaginary people living abroad is seen as one who lives in a happy oasis, where Money is always many, the opportunity to travel as well, but not always so [...]. Regardless of the economic factor, there are countries easier to live and others more difficult, one must really adattadare and is not always easy. "
Merci Alex!

How To Approach A Milf
Gaspare Bello honest
The decisions driven by passion, follow your instincts and what we call small dream of life, often prove to be the right one, because it's hard to go wrong when you grow what you love.
The decisions driven by passion, follow your instincts and what we call small dream of life, often prove to be the right one, because it's hard to go wrong when you grow what you love. Gaspar, Sicily (Cinisi, Palermo), 31 years and a strong love for the French language, has cultivated his passion: he graduated in Literature in 2003 and lives and works in Paris.
Initially it was love for a girl to Paris to take him to France, but when it is withered, Gaspare he realized that he was even stronger love for the land that had welcomed him. So after a brief Palermo (during which graduated) he returned to Paris and remained there permanently.
Today Gaspar worked as Office Manager in holding specializes in pharmaceutical research and biotechnology and is very satisfied.
In France Gaspar has again found love, lived for five years with Valeria, his former university colleague discovered by chance in Paris (the world is really small!).
A Gaspar lacks both Italy ( Italy and I really miss my connection with my hometown remains very strong ") but above all he lacks his family and friends.
Who like him left Italy for foreign Gaspar said: " be proud of and proud of its path. Every Italian immigrant can walk tall and look in the mirror with pride because everything he has achieved and the objectives that they need only to himself and nobody else. Who decided to leave Italy for a foreign country has protected his dignity and decided not to compromise in a country that has barred all the doors and which did not find the place. The price is very high [...] but I think it's worth it. "
Gaspare Merci!

Silvia and Gabriele
Silvia and Gabriel have respectively 32 and 39 years and live in May 2009 Norrkoping (Sweden) where she works as a doctor in a public hospital in the city and he (a degree in astronomy) is the National Weather Service meteorologist Swedish.
Why they chose to emigrate to Sweden right? "Some people in Sweden there is by chance, when the initial goal was in fact another. Some people chose to Sweden after years of reflection and travel in this beautiful country. Some people like us, and others, simply because they chose a particular juncture in offering opportunities and quality of life comparable to those left in Italy. "

") and, like many of we Italians emigrated in the world, they also make up for the distance from the suffering back home thanks to the Internet and in particular to programs like Skype and blogs through which often tell a bit 'of our lives abroad.

Open Letter
The truth is that Italy looks to those who live abroad, often with eyes that see and evaluate just how much is fortunate who has gone away. The United States, thousands of possibilities, how nice change your life, start again ... but no one thinks of what people who leave their land have also left deep in the abyss ... no one thinks that opens the friends you feel inside ... Italians from time to time, we say that there, in Italy, is getting worse, that there 'is working, but you're lucky, maybe I could leave too ... Well, that here is a bit 'better is undeniable, but what else c' is? At the end of the working day (because the U.S. is getting better because we work tirelessly, no one gives anything to anyone, mind you!), When you come home, where you will not miss anything, but something is missing from the taste of ... bread you've ever eaten, to be able to drink a beer with my best friends. Obvious that even here in the USA, very nice people you meet, friends to spend time in fun and diseases to which you also, but the old friends, those with whom you grew up, are another thing. However These relationships are changing slowly but surely, because everyday you do not wait! The clock is ticking for everyone, and when you go back and review, find father and mother who was not first, to see all those gray hairs that were not there before and it's all in one go ... do not live the slow process Can not you see the belly grow to your friend, you see the result and that this can be wonderful, exciting life, you need not have been there in the little moments that precede it and which are the every day life. Do you miss what you were and you know that by now you'll never be.
... then there's the holidays and can not wait to get back to you in your land, but when you come back you feel like a foreigner in this country and leave you feeling bitter taste in the mouth of the barrier that my few words can not explain ...

Eleonora
"America for me is still the land of opportunity, that I discovered through the words of Fitzgerald and Kerouac."
"America for me is still the land of opportunity, that I discovered through the words of Fitzgerald and Kerouac." Eleonora has almost 25 years and about three left Italy (Venice) and flew to the States. What has for the United States has a deep love, so much so that a degree in American Literature. When she arrived he had neither a visa nor a sponsor to ask for it, however, "armed such determination (but mostly luck!) and led by his impulsive nature, he found a sponsor and a job.
She worked at Ohio State University for two years earning his MA (Master of Arts, corresponding to our Master of Science) and is now studying for a PhD (PhD) at the University of Connecticut, where he also teaches (mainly Italian).
In America, Eleanor has also found love: "I met my current boyfriend in the summer of 2007, on a holiday trip in the U.S. and from there five months, I decided to leave it all behind and return to America. "
For Eleonora Italy missing every day, "even though" he says, "I have always suspected that in reality are only to miss the people I love and the food. Every time I go back to Italy I miss America a lot. "
Eleanor thinks she'd like to return to Europe, but does not know if it would return to Italy: "Maybe if I find a good job. Never say never. "
Thanks Eleanor!

Antonio (Toto to his friends)
Antonio, Toto for friends, and Calabria (Tropea), has 58 years, and the permanent job after 22 years of work, he left in '98 to follow his wife in Vienna.
After a lifetime of sacrifice ( "I was studying in Messina, but I lived in Milan where I was a postman and traveling out of role for the exams to be independent from my parents, too if they were economically well ") and travels to various Italian cities (lived in Milan, Trieste, Udine), he left everything and changed lives.
In Austria he worked in theaters, museums and four years working at the Konzerthaus Vienna "where", he says, "I have written three books and two unpublished novels."
Antonio has decided to return to Italy, but "children are almost Viennese and it is difficult given that over time the relationship with the family of origin are lost and helpless, in Italy, riambientarsi hard ... plus our mentality has changed so that a replacement is problematic. "
Who wants to walk away from Italy should "have courage (if you do not have a stable job where they live) and decide to change your life is not dying vegetation where, waiting for Godot ... "
Thanks Antonio!
Antonio is the author main interpreter of the book and documentary film Toto Peter Schreiner - Echtzeifilm Vienna (history a Calabrian immigrant who tries to return to his country and to regain his childhood to the threshold of 50 years). The film, in competition at the Venice Biennale in 2009, will be in New York on December 6 to The John D. Calandra Italian American Inst ITUT .

Ida
All of us are "escaped" from Italy: who to look for work elsewhere, for those who simply get away and meet new people, who (long ago) to forget the war and its horrors ...
Ida lives in Buenos Aires (Argentina). He was only two years old when his family decided to leave Cropalati (in Calabria) and emigrate to forget the great war. Nostalgia the native country, loved ones, so far, however, have continued to be a topic of everyday family and Ida, in the year, while living away from Italy where she was born, grew up immersed in 'love for that culture, those traditions Italian, of which his parents were a doorway.
At 50 years after that first long trip, Ida is back for the first time in Cropalati. Happiness and excitement that accompanied its long-awaited first meeting with the country of origin feelings and emotions ... Today Ida also expressed through his art (an artist is plastic). Ida has never thought to return to live in Italy, but in his works is evident love for his roots, his Calabria, for its history and its landscapes, the people of that country so far and yet so present in his life: " por medio de mis pinturas "says" show pude el amor por mis raices "(for half of my work I could show love for my roots).
Ida thinks it's important to know the stories so many of us left because the only way you can understand the feeling of those who, like us, have left their country, but he always carries in his heart.
Ida Gracias!

Marica
ù More and more often now in Italy you hear stories of companies that close their doors and tens, hundreds, if not thousands, families who remain without work. there is ò that is happened to the family of Marica.
Marica lives in San Diego (California) for about a year. Exactly when the company where she worked her husband announced the closure to employees. What to do next: stay in Italy and live (or survive!) Marica only salary or accept the transfer to San Diego? Marica and her husband, after thinking for a long time, have left Rome and moved to the States.
Marica A San Diego very much. There ò particularly appreciates that the city à California are the mild climate that allows year-round to enjoy the outdoor spaces ( " Our weekend " says " after a year that we are here, they seem to still mini-vacation! " ) and the kindness of people towards foreigners.
to his new life in the United States, Marica, even dedicated a blog ( http://vitaasandiego.blogspot.com/ ) in which said com 'is life in sight from his eyes and SD more.
Although really like to live in California, Marica not believe, for ò, of wanting to stay too: " to stay here for a while ', but not we know how. Our families in Italy ... and we claim that it is more difficult to live ù cos ì away from home! " , and yet "I or personally I do not see us to live life by expatriate ... .
A Marica miss them a lot of his friends: " I miss them a lot," says " also helps if the internet .... but this is not never like talking to four 'eyes ! , "and then" c os ì as I miss certain foods .... eh, but better not to think about! .
Thanks Marica!

Silver 3000 Hackable?
Salvo (Salvatore Anagrafe)
Salvo is 35 years old and lives in the United States now for about 4 years. At first he was not very enthusiastic ... he missed his Palermo, but now appreciate more ù life to emigrate because is, for better or worse, life in the U.S. pays!
Salvo arrived the first time in the States as a visiting scholar at UCSD for playing a year of his PhD studies abroad Italian. After returning to Palermo, he completed his doctoral studies and has not received valid alternative in Italy ( ed. Not being a relative of any professor! ) has accepted the job of your UCSD. Except in San Diego worked for about three years and San Diego has also married (to his girlfriend Sicilian though!). Except now lives in Buffalo (New York State) where he recently moved to work as an Assistant Professor at the University at Buffalo (UB). Life in Buffalo is very different from that which results in California and especially the winter weather with its snow which soon will know, is what most worries him, but at the same time think that ultimately, in life, is better to live away from their land and have a job for which you have made many sacrifices to enjoy the sun in Palermo, but without any hope for the future. Unless today is happy to live in the United States even though a love for his country, unfortunately, often thankless, never abandoned him ... like that in Italian for his favorite football team (the Palermo of course, of which abroad, has never lost a game even when the time zone made him some up early!) and the desire of all the oranges and specialty Palermo :)
Thanks Salvo!
