All of us are "escaped" from Italy: who to look for work elsewhere, for those who simply get away and meet new people, who (long ago) to forget the war and its horrors ...
Ida lives in Buenos Aires (Argentina). He was only two years old when his family decided to leave Cropalati (in Calabria) and emigrate to forget the great war. Nostalgia the native country, loved ones, so far, however, have continued to be a topic of everyday family and Ida, in the year, while living away from Italy where she was born, grew up immersed in 'love for that culture, those traditions Italian, of which his parents were a doorway.
At 50 years after that first long trip, Ida is back for the first time in Cropalati. Happiness and excitement that accompanied its long-awaited first meeting with the country of origin feelings and emotions ... Today Ida also expressed through his art (an artist is plastic). Ida has never thought to return to live in Italy, but in his works is evident love for his roots, his Calabria, for its history and its landscapes, the people of that country so far and yet so present in his life: " por medio de mis pinturas "says" show pude el amor por mis raices "(for half of my work I could show love for my roots).
Ida thinks it's important to know the stories so many of us left because the only way you can understand the feeling of those who, like us, have left their country, but he always carries in his heart.
