TrueCrypt is an open source software for Windows, Linux and Mac OS that helps you create and manage fast and secure one or more virtual encrypted disks limiting access to information only to those who know the password.
Let's see how to quickly create a virtual disk :
1 - Download TrueCrypt from the download page
. The software is in English but once installed it can change the language by copying the installation folder the xml file for localization in the Italian language is available here (Windows only).
3 - Click on the Create Volume

Create a standard TrueCrypt volume and click on Next .
5 - Click on Select File

7 - Define the size of the disk we want to create virtual (for example, has created a virtual disk from 100 MB) and on cliccaimo

8 - Enter the password to Password and Confirm (if you forget your password you can not access your virtual disk) and click Next
9 - Select the size of the Filesystem drop-down menu (for example, was chosen "FAT") and click on Format
10 - The volume has been created. How to access the virtual disk
1) Launch TrueCrypt
2) Click on Select File
to choose the file that contains our newly created virtual disk and then on Mount .
3) There will be asked to enter a password, and click on inseriamola Ok. 4) Now click My Computer there is a new drive (eg Local Disk (E:)) that we can put our documents secure.
5) When ready to use the virtual disk we can make it disappear by clicking on removal from the main TrueCrypt.
