For those who just can not help it, for testing purposes, or because unfortunately some sites or applications only work with that, you can install very easily Internet Explorer on Linux .

What is facilitated by a program (a simple script , free and open source ) named IEs4Linux . The program runs on any Linux distribution (but also other non-Windows systems) that turns Wine (software that allows programs written for Windows to run on other operating systems ).

The installation takes up much less space than it usually does on a Windows PC, as downloads only the necessary components to the browser and not Outlook Express, Media Player, etc..

In the lower layers is the presence of X. Org 1.6, the X server released in January 2009. E 'in this 3D Mesa 7.4 DRI drivers and many video cards were brought to the free version. In more specifically to free ATI drivers (ati-) use the default EXA acceleration, 2D acceleration support for families R6xx/R7xx chipset, while the chipset family is available R5xx 3D support. Also available are proprietary ATI drivers (-fglrx) for users who use video cards based on chipsets R6xx/R7xx and need 3D support.

free drivers Intel (-intel) now use GEM for memory management and enabling the new architecture to accelerate UXA and is available optionally support DRI2.

for input devices is paid particular attention to the Wacom tablets that are now enabled automatically when connected, without requiring changes to the xorg.conf file.

For the graphic aspects has already straparlato the new notification system for applications for the first time it appears in the Ubuntu desktops.

The boot system has been particular improvements, performance boot has improved considerably, in many cases able to get a start in less than 25 seconds.

As for the software, Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope is the kernel 2.6.28-11.37 Linux based on Kernel 2.6.28.8. With the new version of the kernel it was possible to take advantage of some new features, such as support for the new ext4 filesystem which should become the default filesystem in the next version, although this remains the ext3 filesystem by default.

The default browser is Mozilla Firefox 3, the instant messaging client is Pidgin 2.5.5, for the pictures and finally F-Spot 0.5.0.3 OpenOffice.org 3.0.1.

For the server side all you want is already spoken so much to support cloud computing, Ubuntu 9.04 Server Edition contains Eucalyptus technology that allows you to use your server to publish, test and test of private clouds meet the Amazon EC2 API. With Eucalyptus, in Ubuntu you can create virtual machines, configure multiple clusters in a single cloud and provide often an EBS (elastic block storage) equivalent and compatible to the S3 storage. Finally

always for servers also the mail server has been simplified and the package was made available

postfix dovecot-
that provides a full stack with support for SMTP, POP3, edIMAP with TLS and SASL.

The final version of Ubuntu 9.04 is ready to be downloaded and installed. The open source operating system sponsored by Canonical, comes in 3 editions, desktop, server, and Netbook Remix, designed specifically for NetPC.

At first glance you immediately notice the renewed interface, and a different boot screen, which takes less time to go to the desktop ready to use, thanks to the reduction significant start up time.

The team has made considerable efforts to make Ubuntu 9.04 a walking-friendly laptop, and better support for 3G mobile networks. For users who prefer KDE environmment even Kubuntu 9.04 was released, accompanied by

Mythbuntu, MythTV version contains, the better media center.

If you want to try Ubuntu 9.04 without affecting the Windows operating system, you can do it using Wubi, or opt for a virtual system, I assure you nothing easier using VirtualBox.
